Re:        COVID-19 update

EVTV Broadcasts:

Residents can tune into EVTV (digital channel 126.955 or Spectrum channel 955) on Thursdays at 11:00 am, 4:45 pm, and 7:15 pm to hear an update from Ken Arneson and Theresa Brockman. Regular weekly broadcasts will be held to help keep residents informed on the current situation.

Grocery shopping reminder:

Please submit your grocery lists to Resident & Guest services by 4:30 pm the day before your scheduled trip. This will help our staff serve you better.

Mask precautions:

In addition to staff wearing masks, the CDC has now recommended that the general public wear masks when out in the community. Evergreen is working with the resident sewing group to provide a cloth mask to all residents. Once you receive your mask, we ask that you please wear it any time you leave your accommodation.

If you have a guest visit campus, they will be required to provide their own mask.

Tech@Home:

In addition to regular Tech@Home services, a representative will now have open hours each Wednesday for residents to drop by and learn about virtual communications and technology during quarantine. Times and locations are as follows:  Manor North lounge 3:00 – 3:40 pm, Manor South lounge 3:40 – 4:20 pm and Courtyard Hearth Room 4:20 – 5:00 pm.

Creekview Fitness Center:

The Creekview fitness center will re-open Monday – Friday from 7:00 am – noon starting Monday, April 27th. Residents must access the fitness center off the pool deck. Signage will be posted with directions from the Manor South patio.

Nail care:

If you need assistance with toenail hygiene for medical reasons only while on quarantine, a Campus Health nurse will assist you. Call Campus Health at 237-6260 to schedule an appointment.

Campus reminders:

Please continue to practice the following to help reduce the risk of COVID-19 entering and spreading through our campus:

  • Frequent and good hand washing
  • Sanitizing frequently touched surfaces
  • Practice physical distancing, e.g. minimum 6 feet apart
  • Be aware of your health, e.g. change in cough, temperature, breathing, nausea.
  • Be aware of who you have close contact with (within 6’ for a minimum of 15 minutes)

With warmer weather on the way, we encourage residents to get outside and enjoy our gardens and patios. Please be sure to practice social distancing (6’ feet apart), even when you’re outside.

We continue to ask that you do not invite guests and family to Evergreen at this time.  We also ask that residents stay on campus and limit exposure to the greater community as much as possible. If you must have a visitor, we ask that you continue using all precautions.

Items for residents can be dropped off at the vestibule at door 1 during regular business hours (Mon.-Fri. 8:00 am – 4:30 pm or Sat. & Sun 9:00 am – 4:00 pm).  Staff will deliver items to residents.

If a resident shows signs or symptoms such as cough, sore throat or shortness of breath, you are asked to remain in your accommodation and contact the Campus Health nurse at 237-6260.

We continue to be grateful for your patience and understanding. If you or someone you know is in need of any additional support during this time, please let a staff member know. Stay well!
