Medicare is a multi-part program under Title 18 of the Social Security Act.
The 108 beds in the Evergreen Health Center (Creekview North, Creekview South and the Post Surgical and Rehab Center at Manor View) are certified for Medicare Part A coverage. This means that if a resident meets specific criteria (3-day qualifying hospital stay and need for skilled rehabilitation or skilled nursing services on a daily basis), Medicare A may pay up to a maximum of 100 days of a nursing home stay.
Residents living at Evergreen may find that Medicare B will assist with payments for ancillary services such as lab, x-ray and therapy. Medicare B may also assist with paying for the cost of durable medical equipment such as canes and walkers if a physician has ordered them.
This is an optional prescription drug benefit which has been created to assist the elderly in paying for prescription drugs. There are many plans with a wide variety of options from which to choose.
