My buddies thought I was off my rocker when I told them how much fun I had going to Evergreen Retirement and nursing to visit our aged mother. It does sound strange but during my 11 years interacting with Evergreen staff, I began looking forward to their cheerful conversations while visiting our mother with family. My experience at Evergreen is of our mother’s life of independence and loving care in assisted living and later in nursing. I greet and jest with aides, all Certified Nursing Assistants, who are ever attentive to resident needs or requests. Evergreen’s environment is professional and respectful, yet informal and jovial. It was natural to become good friends with staff.

I along with my family am very pleased with the care that my mother is receiving in Manor View. Several family members have professional backgrounds in nursing and dietetics so we are aware of the type of care that is available. To our experience Evergreen is the best continuing care retirement community in the area! This has been demonstrated through mom’s care in physical and occupational therapy, delicious nutritious meals, activities (movies, bingo, Chapel services, etc.), and the care that is given to her by the employees. Mom has done baking which helps with her therapy and also provides food for Evergreen’s Farmers Market.
Evergreen provided a special meal for Mother’s Day. The brunch was delicious with beef tenderloin, scallops, shrimp, chocolate-dipped strawberries, and champagne, in addition to everyday food such as cheesy potatoes, make-your-own omelets, ham, artichokes, cheese plate, and dessert table. All women got a rose.
Every facility may have some issues through the initial move-in phase. We did have some minor issues but they were investigated and solved immediately in a professional manner. Evergreen has the resources to handle each level of care. This has provided me with a level of comfort as I know that Mom will have a smooth transition as her needs change.

My mom recently moved from the Village (Evergreen independent condo-style living) to Garden Place (Evergreen assisted living apartments). She is adjusting really well to her new home and we can already tell that she is enjoying the benefits of being "where the action is" as far as Evergreen activities and services are concerned. We are thankful for the activities she has enjoyed - piano recital, Spanish dancer, holiday vendor fair, to name a few - and that she does not have to concern herself with the weather in order to participate! Mom is also having her hair done weekly at the Evergreen salon (Uniquely You) and has been able to receive physical therapy in-house for her back. It is wonderful that she can get to these appointments easily with her "4 wheeler" as she calls her walker. Enjoying the delicious meals at the Evergreen restaurant (The GardenSide) every day has also been a major benefit. All of these socializing opportunities have really brightened her outlook in ways we all notice!

It’s impossible to put into appropriate words how grateful our entire family has been for the care and attention that Evergreen has afforded Mom. We could not be more pleased with everything that Evergreen has offered to her since my Dad’s passing. Many of your staff have become like her 2nd family. Please accept our truly heartfelt "thank you" for all you have been to Mom and our family.

My first contact with Evergreen was when my grandparents lived there. While I was much younger and didn't pay attention to detail as much, my impression was that my grandparents were very happy, secure and well cared for during their time there. I remember thinking that every single staff member I came in contact with treated my grandparents like treasured family members. Fast forward to my parents moving in. My sister and I looked at the available properties with my parents early on. It was immediately clear that the same approach was still in place, that the warm, caring atmosphere hadn't changed.
