Discover the endless benefits of volunteerism. Many exciting opportunities abound for resident and community volunteers at Evergreen. Volunteers come in all ages, with all interests and abilities and can serve at their own convenience. Given the number of on-going opportunities available, Evergreen offers flexible scheduling. In order to determine appropriate placement, prospective volunteers are interviewed after they have completed the application. After screening through background and reference checks, each volunteer receives orientation and appropriate training. We strive to match our volunteers' interests and abilities to our volunteer needs through a comprehensive orientation program that provides volunteers the resources they need before beginning their service.

The benefits of volunteering include sharing talents and skills, developing new interests, gaining new experiences, helping others, and making new friends. Evergreen volunteers are VIP's (Very Important People) who provide invaluable help to staff members and make it possible to achieve goals that could not be done without the additional assistance from our volunteers.

Circle of Service

Volunteers receive a name badge, become an integral part of the Evergreen organization, and are welcomed as a valued member of the Evergreen Circle of Service. Registered volunteers who have logged cumulative service hours at the first five levels below between August 1 and July 31 are honored at Evergreen's "World of Thanks" Annual Recognition Event.

• Selfless Servers:
      1000 cumulative service hours
• Fantastic 500: 
      500 cumulative service hours
• Timeless Treasures:
      250 cumulative service hours
• Priceless Partners:
      125 cumulative service hours
• Caring Companions:
      50 or more hours of service
• Friendly Faces:
      Volunteers who log up to fifty hours of service are honored at an     

                  annual reception held on the Evergreen campus.

Evergreen's volunteer opportunities may include:

• Activities and Entertainment - assist with resident outings; provide music or other entertainment
• Friendly Visits - provide companionship through individual or small group visits
• Mailing Assistance - label newsletters; stuff or stamp envelopes
• Manor Mart Thrift Shop - sort, price, display, check-out clerk
• Special Events- host, decorate, entertain, set-up, and cleanup
• Sunshine Gift Shop - check-out clerk for gifts and food items sold in the store
• Wheelchair Transport - escort residents to worship services, health drives, Creekview Center, events and activities, or other areas of the campus
