At Evergreen residents maintain their highest potential for independence and wellness by taking advantage
of the wide range of programs and services that can help them pursue interests, learn new skills, form new
relationships, and contribute to their community. Wonderful opportunities exist for residents to get to know
other residents as neighbors and friends. Strong friendships are formed when residents get involved in the
many activities, social events, and programs that are offered here at Evergreen.
Residents are positioned at the top of the Evergreen organizational structure and are
the driving force behind all decision-making.
Evergreen recognizes the great wealth of experience and knowledge that our residents bring to us. Their
career experiences and special insights offer valuable contributions to the Boards and committees on which
they are encouraged to serve. Three residents are full-voting members on the Evergreen Board of Directors
and several serve on the Village Board of Directors and other committees. Many residents are also active
in the Oshkosh area community.
In addition, all Evergreen residents are members of the Residents
Council. The Residents Council, which meets monthly, is very active
with four resident officers, twenty additional voting members
representing all living areas at Evergreen, and fifteen standing committees:

Interesting Facts About Evergreen
Residents
- Evergreen Retirement Community is home to about 300 residents.
- Although most residents are from Wisconsin, many have lived all over the United States and beyond, bringing a
wide variety of experiences with them.
- About half of Evergreen residents first moved into one
of the independent living areas and planned ahead for the
continuing care that is available when needed.
- More than 40% of our residents live independently in Evergreen
Village, the Evergreen Homes and/or Manor Apartments. About 25%
reside in one of our four assisted living areas, and about 35% live in
the Evergreen Health Center.
- Approximately 25% of residents are married couples living at Evergreen.
