Medicare is a multi-part program under Title 18 of the Social Security Act.
Medicare Part A
The 108 beds in the Evergreen Health Center (Creekview North,
Creekview South, and the Post Surgical and Rehab Center at Manor View)
are certified for Medicare Part A coverage. This means that if a resident meets specific criteria
(3-day qualifying hospital stay and need for skilled rehabilitation or skilled nursing services
on a daily basis), Medicare A may pay up to a maximum of 100 days of a nursing home stay.
Medicare Part B
Residents living at Evergreen Retirement Community may find that Medicare B will assist
with payments for ancillary services such as lab, x-ray and therapy. Medicare B may also
assist with paying for the cost of durable medical equipment such as canes and walkers if
a physician has ordered it.
Medicare Part D
This is an optional prescription drug benefit which has been created to assist the elderly
in paying for prescription drugs. There are many plans with a wide variety of options from which to choose.
