Evergreen Retirement
Community is governed by a voluntary 18-member Board of Directors consisting of
community members and three residents.
Barbara Cook is
the liaison from the Evergreen Foundation Board and the Health
and Welfare Ministries Committee of Wisconsin Conference of
United Methodist Church. She is retired from the University of
Wisconsin Oshkosh College of Education and Human Services as
Director of the Professional Education Program. Barbara received her BA from Hendrix College in
Arkansas and MSE from UW Oshkosh. She was president of the
Oshkosh Branch of AAUW and is treasurer of the United Methodist Conference Board
of Ordained Ministry. She is a member of the District Committee on Ordained Ministry
and is the Chair of the Algoma Boulevard United Methodist Church staff parish relations
committee and lay representative to the United Methodist Annual Conference.
Will
Deppiesse received his BA from Ripon College
and is a Vice President at First Business Bank. He is
involved in Oshkosh Rotary Club, Propel, and Oshkosh Area
Economic Development Corporation. Will was a Leadership
Oshkosh adjunct member of the Evergreen Board of Directors
before joining the Evergreen Finance Committee. He enjoys
golfing, yard work, and watching sports. Will and his wife
have two young children.
Dede DeWitt, a
graduate of the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire, is a retired
teacher from the Oshkosh Area School District and is now a
community volunteer. She is a member and past president of P.E.O.
Chapter CG, past president of the Oshkosh Newcomers Club and a
docent at the Oshkosh Public Museum. She is a member of
First United Methodist Church and is a lay member to the Annual
UM Conference. She and husband Andy have two grown
children.
Dr. E. Alan Hartman has been a faculty member at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh since 1976 and
Dean of the College of Business Administration since 1995. He
received his BA degree from the University of Wisconsin; his MS degree and PhD from Michigan State.
Alan is a member of the Leadership Oshkosh Steering Committee, the Center for Applied Research and Services Board of Directors, and
the Board of Directors for the Northeast Chapter of the Wisconsin Innovation
Network.
Marsha Hughes
Randy Husman,
liaison from the Evergreen Foundation Board,
has been a Prudential Representative for 33 years with an
emphasis on retirement planning. With a BS degree in Business
Management, Randy is also a Chartered Life Underwriter and
Chartered Financial Consultant. He is chairman of the Church
Administrative Council and a member of the Finance Committee at
First United Methodist Church in Oshkosh. He and his wife Linda
have three adult children. Randy enjoys traveling, boating, and
water skiing and joins many other fans in Wisconsin as an
"assistant coach" to the Wisconsin Badgers and Green Bay
Packers.
Alice Jenkins, an Evergreen resident, worked for 32 years as an administrative assistant to a prison warden, high school principal, and the University
of Wisconsin vice chancellor. Alice enjoys reading, needlepoint, organ playing, volunteering and computers, and attending
Bible study, prayer group, and church services at Evergreen.
Marcia Larson
Jayne Lindsay is the
liaison to the Board from the Ladies Benevolent Society:
Advocates for Older Adults.
Sue Kreibech
Dan McIntosh, Board Chair, is retired from Appleton Papers as the Executive Vice President after 37 years
with the company. He holds a BS in chemistry/paper science and an MBA in marketing
from Miami University; and is a member of the Neenah Library Board and the
Neenah Board of Appeals.
Roy Ney, Evergreen Manor Apartment resident, has
an accounting degree from Fond du Lac Business College. He
retired after 40 years as accountant, office manager and traffic
manager with Lakeside Foods in Manitowoc and also served on the
Board of Directors there. He was a member of the first Manitowoc
Kiwanis Club and was Exalted Ruler and board member of the Elks
Club. Roy and his wife Edoris, who passed away in 2009,
have two sons, two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Roy is a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Betty Paterson,
liaison from the P.E.O. Help Fund Board and
the Evergreen Village Board,
is retired from the Oshkosh Area
School District where she was a Kindergarten teacher and a
reading specialist. She is a member of P.E.O. Chapter
CG and the Membership Chairman of the State Board of the
National Episcopal Church Women’s Board. Betty was the
first woman to be Senior Warden in a local parish.
Rev. Stephen Rankin,
a retired United Methodist minister,
is an Evergreen resident and lives with his wife Ruth in an
Evergreen Home.
Chris VanStraten
Susan Vette also serves the Oshkosh Community on a
variety of civic organizations and boards. Susan is a
member of the Women’s Fund of the Oshkosh Area Community
Foundation; Oshkosh Opera House Foundation; UWO Foundation;
Affinity Health System; Progress Oshkosh; League of Women
Voters, Leisure Hour Art Club; Mercy Health Foundation
(emeritus).
Sue Winninghoff
has a background in Business and Finance and is a licensed real
estate broker. In 2005 she retired as Winnebago County Register
of Deeds. She served as chair of many committees for Algoma Blvd
United Methodist Church including Strategic Planning, Finance,
new Building Committee and the Construction Fund Drive. She has
been active in the Oshkosh community with Southwest Rotary,
Meals on Wheels, Oshkosh YMCA and several committees. She also
provided past service on the Evergreen Board and Foundation. She
is a member of P.E.O. Chapter CG and loves the water exercise
classes at Evergreen. She and her husband Roger have two grown
children.

Barry Yarbro, Board Vice-Chair, is the pastor of Algoma Blvd United
Methodist Church in Oshkosh.
