Affiliations
Wisconsin Conference of the United Methodist Church - Evergreen
Retirement Community was incorporated as a health and welfare ministry of the Wisconsin Conference of the United
Methodist Church in 1965 and is home to residents of all faiths.
P.E.O. Sisterhood H.E.L.P. Fund, Inc. - The Wisconsin P.E.O. Sisterhood Chapter House Fund
Board (now H.E.L.P. Fund) affiliated with Evergreen in 1970 by contributing funds to help build
several independent homes and designating Evergreen as its official state retirement home.
Ladies Benevolent Society (LBS) of Oshkosh: Advocates for Older Adults
- In 1974, the Ladies Benevolent
Society of Oshkosh affiliated with Evergreen. In 1994, Evergreen ShareHaven—Ladies Benevolent Society
Alzheimer's Group Home was opened and carries the name of the organization whose generous financial
help made the building possible.
Quality Award
Evergreen is a recipient of the 2007 highly
prestigious
Wisconsin
Forward Award at the Proficiency
Level. The Wisconsin
Forward Award is modeled upon the Malcolm Baldrige National
Quality Award.
Memberships
Founding Membership
Wellspring Institute
- This collaborative approach to improving the quality of nursing
home care was begun in 1994 as Wellspring Innovative Solutions, Inc.
by Evergreen Retirement Community and Good Shepherd Services of
Seymour, WI. Wellspring Institute, now comprised of eleven
non-competing, non-profit long-term care organizations, is a
nationally recognized model for commitment to improving care in
skilled nursing care facilities. Evergreen CEO Ken Arneson is a
member of the Wellspring Institute Board.
Organization Memberships
American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (AAHSA) - Evergreen has been a member
of AAHSA since 1967. This international organization represents non-profit homes, housing, health-related
facilities and community services for the elderly. AAHSA has more than 5,000 facility members and more
than 900 associate members.
Pioneer Network - Evergreen was one of the first members to join this national organization to improve
the quality of life for nursing home residents by changing organizational culture.
Wisconsin Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (WAHSA) is the state non-profit
affiliate under the overall umbrella of AAHSA. Evergreen has been a member of WAHSA since
1967. Evergreen has played an active role in WAHSA by participating on various committees
at the state level.
The
Leave a Legacy Wisconsin organization mission is
to raise awareness of charitable estate planning and its benefits and
to encourage more gifts
for the Wisconsin community. Evergreen Retirement Community is a member of
both the state organization and the
Oshkosh Chapter.
